FAQs

On this page we present details about our organization and the people behind it.

1. CAMERA (Community Action and Mobilization Effort to Raise Awareness)
“Turn Your CAMERA On”… Too often witnesses and bystanders forgo the opportunity to prevent, deter, or report a violent crime by turning their back and walking away from the scene.

CAMERA is purposed to engage a wide range of community stakeholders to increase awareness and individual involvement in neighborhood watches and prevention activities to ensure that violent crimes are reported in a timely manner and can be prevented or deterred if possible.

Stakeholders include (but are not limited to) the following:
• Area/Community Residents
• Police Precincts
• Community Programs
• Area/Community Businesses and Organizations
• Churches/Faith-based Organizations
• Schools and other

We challenge every community organization and individual to protect our most valuable assets, our children, by “Turning Your CAMERA On!”

2. PACE (Physical, Academic, and Cultural Enrichment) Youth Delinquency Prevention and Developmental Program
“Each one teach one, heal one, reach one”…Understanding that all of our children are at risk of being involved in violent crimes, whether they are the victim or the perpetrator, The PACE Youth Prevention and Development Program Model will promote the development of out-of-school community services to provide physical, academic, and cultural enrichment for inner city youth.

3. HOPE (Helping Other Parents Endure) through Christopher Rose
“Today it’s my child…Tomorrow it may be yours”…The purpose of HOPE through Christopher Rose is to provide outreach services and support to parents and other family members within the community who have lost a child due to violence in the community, whose child may have been a victim of violence, or who wish to become involved in community mobilization activities to prevent violence.

Mr. and Mrs. Rose

Christopher's parents, Errol and Sharon Rose have chosen to channel their grief into forming this organization and working to improve the state of crime in their neighborhoods and hopefully, with time and the success of their efforts on this small scale, the state of crime even further afield.

Mr. and Mrs. Rose have been together for 32 years.  They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in 2005.

The Website Committee

While the website was originally established by Roxanne Coombs in September 2005, recently, she has not had the time to devote to the site's proper maintenance. As of October 2006, Crystal Rose, Christopher's sister, his cousin Rohan George and Nicole Philbert, our community intern have taken on the responsibility of maintaining the website as the website committee.

Our Programs

As we describe above, we would like to focus on the following three programs to start:

C.A.M.E.R.A (Community Action and Mobilization Effort to Raise Awareness) - primarily to ensure the timely reporting of violent crimes in our community

P.A.C.E (Practical, Academic, and Cultural Enrichment) - a Youth Delinquency Prevention and Developmental Program primarily to promote out-of-school community services

H.O.P.E (Helping Other Parents Endure) - Parents supporting each other ands strengthening the community

We are starting a group of committees whose members will promote the goals of the Programs described above.  To Volunteer in a committee:
